WHAT THEY ARE
A series of exciting updates have been added to POS (point of sale) beginning with Edge version 24.1.
WHAT THEY DO
This includes new options for Receipts, Services, and more, all designed to make processing transactions easier than ever.
HOW THEY WORK
System Options
A series of new System Options were introduced giving you more control over specific POS functions, including posting to QuickBooks. These options can be found by going to Administrative → System Options → POS Options and/or QuickBooks Options, or by searching the desired option listed below.
POS Options

Default Description on Trade/Buy: Text entered here will automatically fill in at POS when a trade is taken

Require Override if an Item is Returned After This Many Days: Requires an override when an item is returned over a specified number of days.
QuickBooks Option
Move Credit Card Refunds to Same Account as Cash Account: Posts credit card refunds to the same account as Cash Account.
Receipts

Only Print Envelopes Option
An option was added to the Preview Receipt screen to only print job envelopes (Repair, Custom Job, Special Order, and Layaway). Checking this box will automatically switch the receipt preview from a receipt preview to the job envelope preview.
Tender Option - Checks
You can now type letters into the Check # field when selecting Check as a Tender Option at POS.
