HOW IT WORKS
QuickBooks Maintenance - Slow Posting
If you are encountering very slow posting to QuickBooks, there are a couple maintenance options which may help speed up your posting.
It is important you follow EACH of these steps in the order they appear below:

REBUILD THE QB COMPANY FILE

Get everyone out of QB.

In QuickBooks:
Click File → Utilities → Rebuild Data
Click File → Utilities → Verify Data

REBUILD INDEXES IN EDGE:

First have everyone close The Edge down.
-
Open The Edge on the server computer only.

Click File → Rebuild Indexes.

Enter your password and then click Rebuild.

Wait for it to complete. It may freeze at times but it is running
NOTE: It may present with an error here which you should email to us, it will then continue and complete once the error is closed.

The process is done when the DONE button is no longer greyed out.

Click Done to close the process and continue using The Edge as normal.

In QuickBooks create a new customer. We recommend creating a new customer yearly. For
example: POS Customer 202X.

Once created in QuickBooks, go back to Edge and navigate to Administrative → QuickBooks → Setup Integration on the customer drop-down. Click it and select the newly created customer from Step 3. Click OK, then OK again.
Turning Off JE Warning in QuickBooks Desktop
Follow the steps outlined below for turning off the JE (Journal Entry) warning in QuickBooks Desktop:

In QuickBooks, click on the Edit menu and select Preferences.

Under Accounting, choose the Company tab. Uncheck the box next to Automatically assign
general journal entry number.
Turning Off JE Warning in QuickBooks Online
Follow the steps outlined below for turning off the JE (Journal Entry) warning in QuickBooks Online:

In QuickBooks, click on the Gear icon and choose Account and Settings.

From here select Advanced from the menu.

Under Other preferences there is an option to Warn if duplicate journal number is used. Turn this
warning OFF. NOTE: This button will appear grayed out when successfully turned off.
