Increase Your Bottom Line and Profitably Manage Your Inventory with The Edge
WHAT IT IS
Four different pricing methods for pricing out bulk inventory.
WHAT IT DOES
Helps you price out items depending on their quantity and category.
HOW IT WORKS
The Edge includes five pricing methods, the most common of which is Fine Jewelry, Individual Item Pricing. This method assigns each item a unique SKU, even if that style was previously in inventory. However, it is not appropriate for all types of inventory, particularly those low cost items carried in quantity.
See below for an overview of the four bulk pricing methods. We will cover each individual pricing method in the future.
General Merchandise, UPC/SKU: Appropriate when an item is carried in quantity and all pieces carry the same cost/price (charms, batteries, sterling silver bracelets).
Buy & Sell Item by Unit of Measure (IUOM): Appropriate when an item is carried in quantity of both a physical count and a measure (melee diamond stones, especially .05ct and larger when the stone is sold individually).
Buy & Sell by Measure Only (UOM): Appropriate when an item is tracked only by measure (gold stock or smaller diamond melee where there is no physical count, only a weight).
Mixed Retail Pricing (PRE): Appropriate when an item represents a group of like-items where costs differ but there is a single consistent markup (watchbands).
